Helping Daddy Practice

Kaitlyn really enjoys music and when Todd took out his Bass to practice she had to help. She did a lot of dancing first and then helping him play. She had a lot of fun.

Getting Ready for Halloween

We were having a lot of trouble finding a Halloween costume for Kaitlyn around town so my mom bought one in NS and mailed it to us. We received it last Friday and I just had to try it on her. It fit perfect. She is going to be a Princess. Of course for Halloween she will be wearing a long sleeved onesie and some tights. I'll post more after that.

Our Little Artist

Yesterday I decided to do some painting with Kaitlyn. I thought it would be fun to let her create her first masterpiece. Of course I had to help her by starting the picture. At first she didn't want to touch the paint. Once she did then she was covered in it. I think that she had fun. the only thing I learned was not to use the blue paint again because it stained her legs a little. LOL.

When we were all finished and she realized how dirty she was she got upset. She was also upset because I wouldn't let her put her fingers in her mouth to lick off the paint. She got right into the tub to get cleaned off.

Stairs, Stairs and More Stairs

Kaitlyn is really starting to discover new things that she can do. She had climbed the stairs once or twice a month ago but yesterday she kept doing it over and over. It was a game to her. She would climb up with us behind her and when she got to the top we would carry her down. She would then do it again and again. Now that she can go up we are trying to teach her how to come down properly.

Such a Big Girl

Last night just before bedtime we were all downstairs as a family. Kaitlyn was playing with anything she could find and Todd was walking on the treadmill. Kaitlyn was just in awe with that. After he stopped she wanted to do it. She would put her toys on it and then climb up and sit on it.

She is getting so good at standing up on her own. Everyday her balance gets better. Won't be long now.

This morning as soon as we came downstairs Kaitlyn started playing with the toys in her toy box. All of a sudden I looked over to find her in her toy box. I wish I would have seen her get in. She couldn't get out on her own though so I had to help. After that it didn't take long for her to remember the treadmill. She went right over.

Now she was finally doing it like daddy did. She was so proud.

Fun with Buddy

On Sunday we enjoyed some family time and Kaitlyn really had a lot of fun with Buddy. Normally the dogs will get up and move when she comes around but Buddy was calm and let her climb all over him. She did very well not hitting him or pulling his hair.

Kaitlyn's First Cupcake

Over the weekend I was the host of a friends baby shower and I made cupcakes for the event. I decided to make a few extra so that we could enjoy them over the Thanksgiving weekend. Kaitlyn has never been able to have cupcakes so on Saturday we had one for desert after lunch. We gave her a whole one with a little bit of frosting on it and she loved it. At first she poked it a little and licked the frosting off her fingers. Once she had the taste she picked the whole thing up and took a huge bite. It was only a small cupcake and we only let her eat half of it. That was more then enough sugar for her. I can't wait to see her on her birthday next month.

Jen's Baby Shower

On October 6, 2007 I hosted a baby shower for my friend Jen. Her daugther Olivia was born on September 21, 2007 and she is such a cutie. I wanted to do something special for them so I planned the shower and had the help of both Jen's mother Ann and her Mother-in-Law Betty. We had it this weekend because Ann was in town and it was important that she was there. It was held at Betty's house in Dorintosh and was a great night. There was great food, we played a few games and Olivia slept the whole time. Jen received a lot of great gifts and really appreciated having her friends and family around.
